Microsoft has been working with city, county, and state public safety organizations to improve intelligence handling via the Microsoft Fusion Core Solution (FCS), an advanced collaboration and geospatial intelligence solution based on Microsoft SharePoint and Esri's advanced geospatial software, allowing law enforcement professionals to plot and track criminal activity and data visually on a map. Datamaxx Group announced a cloud-based version of FCS with the additional capabilities of mission critical CJIS data access via Omnixx. Omnixx Fusion Core Secure Cloud Solution will provide FCS and Omnixx capabilities from the Datamaxx FBI and Nlets audited hosted environment.
Moving to a secure cloud-based environment eliminates most upfront capital expenditures, is more easily deployed than on-premise solutions, and enables scale on demand. Even smaller agencies and departments will be able realize usage benefits more quickly and stand up their own fusion centers with limited or no information technology support.
And beyond law enforcement, Omnixx Fusion Core Secure Cloud Solution will allow others-including fire departments and correctional institutions-to gain full Fusion Core benefits that otherwise might be unavailable at the local level.
Here's how it works: Omnixx Fusion Core Secure Cloud Solution helps public safety personnel manage intake, search, analysis and work flow across multiple agencies, enabling them to access critical data and visualize patterns and trends to help prevent future acts of terrorism and crime, and facilitate a faster and more informed response when necessary. The new cloud-based version provides an even more cost-effective way for state and local data fusion centers, real-time crime centers, information sharing consortiums and emergency operations centers to quickly gain access to mission critical capabilities to assist in accomplishing their mission.
The goal with Omnixx Fusion Core Secure Cloud Solution is to help improve public safety, and the benefits are very real. Public safety organizations such as the Utah SIAC (Statewide Information & Analysis Center) are improving their intelligence handling with FCS as described in this customer testimonial video. Additionally, local police departments (like the Arlington, Texas Police Department) in cities hosting the National Football League's Super Bowl have recently used FCS to make better, faster homeland security decisions and facilitate improved collaboration across agencies at all levels of government.
